Do Not:

• Admit that the collision was your fault
• Fail to call the police
• Apologize for the collision
• Make statements or act in a way that you will regret later on
• Refuse treatment at the scene if offered
• Tell the police officer that you were not injured
• Wait for any period of time before getting an examination to see if you were injured
• Miss work without a doctors excuse
• Skip doctor appointments or fail to follow physician instructions
• Exaggerate your injuries
• Give a recorded statement to the insurance company
• Make an early settlement if you are still injured no matter how bad you need the money
• Lie to anyone about what happened or what your injuries are or how they have effected you
• Fail to notify your insurance company
• Drive a rental car for an extended period of time while you wait on yours to be fixed assuming that the insurance company will pay for it
• Use an insurance company repair shop unless you get a lifetime guarantee on the work
• Get in over your head. If the injuries are substantial, call a lawyer. You may regret not calling one
